CalliCafe

CalliCafe is a cafe where people can enjoy a cup of coffee whilst learning about calligraphy. It is designed to be an elegant place where members of the general public and calligraphers can come together to share their works and experiences.

Western calligraphy is not popular in Hong Kong as there are limited ways to get connected with the craft. It is expensive to learn, and there are only a few calligraphy experts in the city.

CalliCafe aims to promote the industry of calligraphy in Hong Kong. Since women in Hong Kong tend to be more interested in calligraphy, the initial visual identity of the cafe will focus on the preferences of this group.

The calligraphy showcased are all original works written in my hand. The contents feature positive quotes related to femininity. The visual style, rich with calligraphic swashes, exudes elegance and feminine beauty.
