《天花亂墜》 is a mind boggling song, whose lyrics match up the title’s confounding nature.

“Others is hell” describes the human state where one finds himself incompatible with people around him and happiness is but impossible when others’ expectations or words suppress his free will. The protagonist in the music video desperately attempts to live up to others’ expectations- the dish washing and window cleaning are metaphorical manifestations of her state of mind.

We, however, can only be our true selves through choices of our free will. We live in an insane world that is crumbling and senselessness may be the last outlet of free expression.

If we are never rewarded for our effort, why don’t we live as we wish? Sing and dance with the song, come what may.

《昔日舞曲》is a song about a person who looks back at his aspiration and becomes determined to go beyond that.

Hong Kong in the 80s was a place of high hope. The protagonist rediscovers her passion for art in her daily life, basking in the times full of possibilities. Yet she finds herself unsatisfied with merely producing art work, and learns that people’s appreciation of her work can make it and break it at the same time.

Sharing has become her objective to move beyond herself. She displays her artworks in the open, regardless of how long they can remain and how much people can relate to them. The simple act of sharing completes her.

Many a time, we turn our back on our aspiration for the chaotic circumstances we’re in, while it actually is the perfect setting to be creative. It should not be the possibility of losing everything we should be fearful of; it’s not leaving a mark in the world, not sharing and not transcending ourselves that would haunt us for the times beyond.

Just because it is the best of times, it is the worst of times.

「他者即是地獄。」當一個人和周遭的人無法相處，被別人的期望或是言語阻礙自己的自由意志時，是無法獲取幸福的。女主角在MV裡任人勞役，放下身段以低姿態處理別人對自己的要求，從而尋求認同。當中洗碗、抹窗等行為不單單意指表象，更是象徵著活在別人的期望或要求中，自己必須不斷努力和勞動才能得到別人認同。

然而，人只有通過自由選擇才能決定自我存在和得到自由。我們活在一個荒謬的世界、一個崩壞的時代，或許無厘頭才是我們的救贖。既然付出再多也無法得到相應的收穫，為何不率性地活著？隨歌唱，隨歌舞，歡樂或是失落，想做就做。

《昔日舞曲》是一首關於回憶自己昔日的理想，並決意要超越自己的歌曲。

八十年代的香港是一個充滿熱情的地方。故事主人翁從生活裡找回對藝術的熱情，重拾舊日充滿想像的時光。然而，昔日單純的創作已經不能滿足自己，她察覺到別人既是地獄，也是天堂。

於是，「分享」成為了她超越自己的命題，由室內畫到室外，毋管她的創作可以在世上停留多久，也不管別人得 不得到共嗚，單單這個過程已經讓她感到完整。

很多時候，我們都因為生處於混亂的時代而放棄理想，但正正因為時代的荒謬而造就了更豐富的創作。我們不應該害怕自己變得一無所有，應該害怕自己無法在世界上留下痕跡，無法把意念分享給別人，無法超越想像中的自己。

因為這是最好的時代，也是最壞的時代。
