by Li Suet Wui

The objective of this project is to raise people’s awareness on procrastination, and to understand the significance of taking the first step to start doing everything.

The target audience is university students. Animation has been chosen for the media as it can attract the first sight of audience by combining sounds and visual elements. In the story, the main character is a blue rabbit-like monster called Yzal. With the support of “First-step Angel,” he is a successful university student who can take action to do all the things immediately. However, after the angel disappeared, the Yzal becomes extremely lazy and starts postponing everything. He turns into a disgusting monster at the end.

Positive and negative scenes were created to show a contrast. It aims to raise students’ awareness on this issue and let them reflect on their actions. In reality, every student has experienced procrastinating, but there are no angels to help. Side-products — memo pad and to-do list are designed to remind them to take the first step and achieve a better life.
