WHAT IF…

In many communities today, misunderstandings and prejudices often escalate into hateful language and social divisions. These tensions hinder social cohesion and create hostile environments that impact individuals’ well-being and community harmony. Therefore, I designed a series of four children's books aimed at teaching and sharing strategies on how to effectively handle situations involving hate speech.

The project aims to educate and guide children on how to respond appropriately to hate speech. It will present four different scenarios where hate speech occurs, showcasing various ways people react to these situations. By engaging with these scenarios, the project seeks to help children develop the right attitudes and skills for handling hate speech effectively from a young age. Therefore, the book’s design features a cartoonish and playful style with various interactive elements intended to capture and hold the reader’s attention, allowing them to learn effectively through engaging interaction.
