Unseen Battle
by LAM Pak Sze Pansy

In today's society, anxiety and panic disorders affect countless individuals, yet they remain widely misunderstood due to a lack of awareness. Those who suffer often endure invisible struggles, while the outside world struggles to comprehend their inner turmoil.
“Unseen Battle” aims to bridge this gap by using art and storytelling to raise public understanding, foster empathy, and provide support for those affected.
Centered on visual expression, Unseen Battle will produce three sets of books (six volumes in total), including short story collections and horror-aesthetic illustration books, such as “Unseen Battle: The Invisible Pain of Panic and Anxiety” (Parts 1 & 2) and “Unseen Battle: Fragments of Panic in Life”. Through striking visuals, these works will immerse viewers in the emotional reality of living with these disorders, challenging misconceptions about mental health.
The primary audience is young people aged 16 to 25, particularly those who may be undiagnosed but struggling emotionally, as well as individuals who prefer visual learning over text. By presenting complex emotional experiences through art, Unseen Battle offers a more accessible way to engage with these issues. Additionally, merchandise (hoodies, cushions, bookmarks, etc.) will be created to extend Unseen Battle’s reach, while use social media (Instagram @unssenbattle_) will share mental health insights, artwork updates, and links to purchase the books and products.
Ultimately, Unseen Battle seeks not only to increase awareness of anxiety and panic disorders but also to cultivate a more compassionate and inclusive dialogue. By making these invisible battles visible, we hope to create a society where those affected feel understood, supported, and less alone.
